I decided to leave my wordpress blog and transfer to blogspot. I wanted to have adsense added to my blog so that I can in a way earn something from posting some pics and articles. I’ve been searching for several days for a web development tool that allows a linked to pop up a flash-like window of a picture. Earlier, Caroline, a BSIT student of mine led me to dynamicdrive.com. The tool that I was looking for is called lightbox image viewer. Dynamicdrive.com discussed a tutorial on using the picture gallery tool. I’m planning to use the feature in the Computer Science Department website that I will be developing as soon as I have a free time.

Knowing the Limitations

When you are offered a lot of money to do a certain work, would you do it or not?

I am a freelance worker but at the same time I am an college instructor in a prestigious Catholic university. I’ve done several research related activities in the university including advising more that 10 undergrad thesis projects already. I also served as thesis coordinator for 2 years. Thesis projects are supposed to be the compilation of all the things learned in college. One of the most important rule that we set with the students in our university is to make sure that they are the ones who conducted their thesis project. In case we find out that it was done by someone else, they will automatically be failed and may be suspended by the school.

I recently received an offer from a municipality in the region to do an interactive tutorial. At first I was glad because another potential project came. After seeing the first page of the proposal, I was given an idea that it was for a college thesis. My suspicion was confirmed when I texted the person who sent the manuscript. One of the most crucial decisions that should be made in doing freelance work is whether to accept a project or not. In this case, I turned down the offer. Why? Because it violates my principles.

Erap is Guilty, but why am I not Happy

Finally, Erap was convicted for the crime of plunder. The wheel of the Philippine justice system is already turning. However, there is still a part of me that is sad about the system. Other issues and crimes committed by public officials should also be given an equal quality of attention as of the case of Erap. Hello Garci!!!

How to Add Google Search Engine in Your Website

You can easily add a search engine on your website to provide your users a way to explore your website or the web by just entering a keyword. There are several sites that can provide you with this service, but what I like most is Google.com. Aside from it’s the number 1 search engine in the world, it allows you to easily set up the search box and customize how it will look like.

First off, you need to create an account on on Google or Gmail. Log in to your account and visit this site. Once you are on the google’s custom search box page, you can click on the “Create a Custom Search Engine button” and fill out the form. You can specify if the search that will be made by your website visitor is restricted to your site or the whole web.

To generate the html code that you can insert in your website, look for the control panel link and click it. Click on the Code link to display the code. Below is the code generated when I used the CSE feature of Google.
